King's Pond Duck Walk
This sunny morning, I went on a solo walk through Saanich, covering over 9 kilometers in just under two hours. The route took me past Kings Pond, where I spotted ducks and enjoyed the calm beauty of the trees reflecting on the water. My average heart rate stayed low, mostly in Zone 1, and I kept a relaxed cadence of around 59 steps per minute. The gentle elevation gain and shaded paths made it feel like a quiet journey through a storybook forest. At one point, I imagined myself as the rider in a peaceful woodland scene, moving steadily under the dappled morning light.
