Hardrock 2009 - A Runner's Journey from lonerunman on Vimeo.
Canadian ultrarunner Bruce Grant gives an up-close and personal account of the 2009 Hardrock 100 mile trail run.
This movie has to be the best story of a classic 100 miler I have ever seen.
Give it time to load completely and enjoy this docudrama.Enjoy!
Bruce is a good friend of mine from Delta BC.
He wrote:-
Set in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado, the race route starts and finishes in the historic mining town of Silverton, traversing across the Continental Divide and 14000' Handies Peak before passing through the villages of Ouray and Telluride. The race route is at an average elevation of 11000'.
140 runners took on the route this year, with 105 finishing within the allotted 48-hour time limit. The runners go continuously without stopping until they reach the finish line.
Just in case you might be wondering what it took for Bruce to complete the race this year:
- 36 nuun electrolyte tablets
- 70 GU and CarbBoom gels
- ENDfootwear Stumptown 12 shoes
- Nathan HLP008 and XTrainer Mutation hydration systems
- but most of all, never thinking he would ever quit
This movie was shot with a Sanyo Xacti VPC-E2 camera, and edited with iMovie on a Macbook Pro.
I would gladly accept donations of a lightweight steady-cam or a new Mac for the next video!! :-)
