Sunday, sweeping the 8K

My mission today was to run to the Saanich Fairgrounds, and sweep the race. (run last man and tell the volunteers that they could pack up and open the roads.)
The first part was the 8 a.m. run from my lair to the start.
18K of side roads and gravel RTT* flat and direct...
I made the first leg last about 2 hours, did the race ,in 1:23:56.
This was the overall pace for the slowest finisher. She was and injured runner 70 y/o who had the ride and the race set up months ago and she has done about 9 or 10 years of these races.
I missed her in the first sweep as she started off walking!
I was following the wrong gal.
She eventually started running and she finished 4th. from last.
The real last gal was the injured runner.
She thinks running the Shawnigan Lake 1/2M did in her knee.
Fun day lots of running and lots of schmoozing.
ILTS!

*Rail to trail.
